I'm sure if I were to ask most here whats your favourite or what do you think the best FW is, most if not 90% here would say Comodo. But if you were given a 2nd choice what would it be.

Fair enough and everyone is entitled to their opinion. I would love to try Online Armor but at the moment Vista doesnt support it.

Not everyone here loved Comodo. Where did you get that idea from anyway?

    I vote for:

    1. Online Armor

Vista is supported by new Online Armor Beta v3 https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=216843
Beta works without any problems on my XP.

Your question is more or less like:

If Comodo (which one?) does not exists what would be you choice?
And then we are back on: What's the best Firewall.
And that is not allowed here.

I'd probably be inclined to pick the LooknStop firewall, although I have never tried it, and I would test it to form an opinion.

That is not true. I wish everyone would get their facts straight before posting stuf like this. What forum are we in? We are not in the 'other ant-virus' forum, which is the only place a vs. b threads are not allowed.

Comodo Pro has one bug it can't be use on real networks running more than 2 PCs as with other firewalls you can. Plus why would you use that to hose your system.

Sorry, I am not sure what you are telling me in your answer.
I only give a personal opinion. And yes you are right: no facts. Which one's do you expect? I know in what Forum we are, no doubts about that.
    Cheers,

    Gerard

I've notice you use the Sandboxie which I use, but these other software listed below your sig like the ones in bold are only used once correct? Does Secure-it really stop malware from attaching itself onto the system? You ever use Regprot?

Hardeners: Harden-it, Secure-it, Seconfig XP, Bugoff, WWDC, XPY

The A vs B policy is only for the Anti-Virus forum. That being said, a thread of that type would be as equally useless here as in the Antivirus forum.

Plus IMHO, the whole promise of this thread is a bit wacky. It assumes Comodo, is no. 1 and I am not sure that is true or matters for that fact.

In the interest on not hijacking this thread, please feel free to PM me, or start another thread, and I will be hapy to discuss this further with you. But this thread is about Comodo and 2nd choices, as faulty a premise as it might be.

    Hello,
In Windows, my choice no.2 would be Kerio 2.1.5.
You all know my choice no.1.

An SPI-capable router is all that's really needed.

Comodo comes no where near top for me. In fact I hate it. I think a firewall should be simple and perform it's primary function well - INBOUND protection.
I haven't got a favourite but my top three in no particular order is Windows Firewall, Sygate and Kerio 2.

    1 Online armor free
    2 Jetico 1

    The organization of GUI:
    1. Jetico
    2. Online armor

Jetico 1 will be my favorite if there is some tool to make the maintenance of rules easier

And I only like free ones :D

I have to keep my live with xp as long as possible

Does Comodo really have inbound problems? I have seen a couple reports at the Comodo forums of people being hacked, and I haven't seen that at other firewall forums. I'm considering which firewall to use, so any input here?

It is not just a case where threads of certain types are technically allowed or not, but also about the point of discussion in a thread. If such discussion is banned on the AV board, shouldn't that tell you something?

That would depend on what you need.

All firewalls have inbound problems. It's nothing unusual.

    Really? Where? (A link...)

Which OS? 32 or 64? A new thread should serve you better.
