Sorry to hear that. F-Prot for DOS has always been rock-solid in my systems.

Norton. :D At that time I was amazed by the big number of defs he had: 40.000 :p ... and I also had no idea that it should get updated via internet. I thought it was amazing and uninvincible as it was. :D

    Hi Big!

You made the identical post I was going to make.
3 floppy's for the "real" Norton.
Memory is fuzzy but it ran under W95 or even MS DOS. :thumb:

Does it count if i had to remove the antivirus igain because it did slow down my computer so much that it was unusable... If yes, then my first antivirus was NORTON.. (didnt even have it on the computer in 30 min (and i used most of thoose 30 min to remove norton igain and restart the computer)

And after getting tid of Norton, i searched for a free program and got told AVG was a good free program, so i installed AVG..

For me, it was F-Prot so far back that even the RealTime Protector was free, and it came out of www[dot]complex[dot]is. This was back in the days when ALL of the AV defs and necessary files would fit on a 720 KB floppy to create a rescue disk.

Norton for many years, I think I used Mcafee for a short time. (this was so long ago, sometime in the 90s)
NOD32 a year, then back to Norton.
AVG Free a few months and now finally AntiVir PE.

Woaw, that was long ago! Not sure if it's right but I think it was Command AV in the DOS days. Microsoft MS-DOS Anti-Virus after that.

I forgot to mention in my previous post that my first few computers didn't have and didn't need an antivirus since there weren't any viruses you needed to worry about :D
