    I think most HIPS can. I know Malware Defender can.

    Figured as a second post, I'd post my security setup. I've been lurking this forum since 2005 and I only recently bothered to register. Anyways, here it is;

    OS: Windows 7 Professional x64 SP1 (UAC set to quiet mode)

    Real-Time/Active Protection: Eset Smart Security 5.0 | Webroot SecureAnywhere Complete | Returnil System Safe 2011 Pro

    On Demand: HitmanPro 3.6 | Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Pro (realtime disabled for obvious reasons)

    Passive: SpywareBlaster | HostsMan (Malware Domain List and MVP Hosts active) | EMET 2.1 (Java, Firefox, Thunderbird, PDF and most internet facing apps EMET'd)

    Other: KeyScrambler Premium 2.9.1 | AdMuncher Premium 4.93 Beta | Sandboxie 3.68 (x64 with Experimental Protection Enabled) | Macrium Reflect 5.0 Free

    I've tried the LUA and SRP but it was too restrictive for my gaming.

    I've also made sure to add exceptions to each of the 3 realtime AVs running to make sure there are no conflicts or risking unnecessary instability.

    I ran Emsisoft Anti-Malware for a while but I'm trying out ESET again to see how their full fledged security suite works. I used to run ESET NOD32 for a few years but I noticed that I started getting some BSODs whenever I ran Left 4 Dead or any other Source Engine based game. I forget the module that failed but I did some digging and found that it was related to ESET. So far I've not noticed any issues with ESS so I might switch back to it once I get some extra funds.

    Anyways, I think I have all bases covered almost to the point of paranoia and minor system instability but I've not had any major crashes barring the occasional lockup my system does ever since I built it 3 years ago. If I only knew about the 680i chipset and it's various quirks I would have gone with the x38 instead. :(

    Try not to be too brutal on my setup.

    Alright, in this seemingly endless quest once again to pit & to prove once and for all the separate apps vs. the all-in-one solutions, i've taken it to recalibrate matters yet again with the install of Privatefirewall 7.0.27.1, posted 4/5/2012 since for some odd reason the last ComodoFW release is throwing up weird messages just to install :blink:

    Of course it wouldn't have anything whatsoever to do with it's bundling practice of heaping together in the mix Dragon & GeekButty. The odd couple. :blink:

    Then why are you so brutal on your computer? ;)

    I could not use that many apps just for security (some of them are even overlapping).
    Is there any noticeable slowdown of your system, using all those apps?
    Consider yourself lucky, if "minor system instability" and "occasional lockups" are all you're getting.

    Well I changed it up a bit, turns out that ESS was causing some slowdown (big surprise there) and uninstalled that and installed Privatefirewall instead for a firewall instead. System is a lot faster because of it.
