Maybe not be the strongest defense I've run, but it's probably enough: Sandboxie, MSE and Mamutu.

Edit: That didn't last long. Saw the post below mine by Mongol, at $5 I'll have to try WSA Essentials.

Running sandboxie, Comodo firewall and the newest appguard beta.
It's working so far. Had to add the rules that kidshamrock gave in the sandboxie forum. It is working in lockdown though. Before I could only get it to work in high.

Antiviruses have to be my most grievious Nemesis of any software i ever dealt with, nearly on the level with the malware i routinely research.

So here i go again. Kaspersky for my setup is been great as of late and i been content to lean on it with my main net box, but today i'm trialing Eset 5 with it's HIPS feature too.

I absolutely abhor AV's and always have ever since HIPS & Instant Recovery apps made the scene awhile back. For me AV's have just been another tool to help do my malware identity research but i really would might like to settle on a single AV product. It's been like a ping-pong tournament that never ends.

I guess you might say i'm a devoted conservative, preferring to umbrella my main system with the fiercest security ware but with the absolute least amount of taxing on system performance.

We'll see how long this lasts

  7. At the moment I am running Kaspersky Internet Security with WSA and Zemana, Secondary scanners Hitman Pro and MBAM, Also OpenDNS with tricked out router firmware. Plus Acronis True Image doing a daily snapshot.

Kinda what i just can't seem to shake whenever running the popular brands of AV's and why theres always a marked upsurge of computer energy whenever i pull them out of my lineup. No matter how current a CPU rating & memory, i always observe a definite "Lag" of the snappiness expected. It's inherent in Windows platforms whenever i install and run resident AV's, with the possible exception of Avira which taxes the system the least and doesn't hiccup among the other security apps meant to offset potential weak zones.

Bought a couple of licenses for Drive Vaccine. Works great. Re-boot and everything is re-stored. OA keeps me protected during a session.
