I've never seen a firewall that avast! wouldn't work with.

I put avast! on my computer first then OA.

    Two a/v's will conflict. ;)

Leftovers from another a/v can cause problems, clean your registry before installing avast!.

I've replaced Bitdefender Total Security 2012 with Comodo Internet Security 2012. My pc feels like a new one now.

What's the story with Shadow Defender these days? I like it more than Returnil but uninstalled due to this hacking business. Also, any good alternatives to Shadow Defender(except Returnil as I'm using it at the mo).

I can't agree that all 3rd party imaging solutions are complicated. I found a few that are not. If Windows 7 Backup & Restore works for you then thats fine.

You just proved my point with this statement. :p

If you had the original Copy of SD there was no need to remove it.It is the website now that remains questionable with current version.

A highly skilled computer genius recommended that I use Peerblock and UTorrent for the torrent downloads.

So that is what I did.

    Mamutu in my opinion :

    Lot's of false positive
    Naggy
some what of useless if you don't know how to configure it

threat fire is far more easy to handle :)
    hope the recontinue the development

BTW thanks Jmonge for the awesom 6 month of free Mamutu :D

Well, I never did have the original. I downloaded it from the website after the hacking problem, unaware at the time that this had gone on. Even if I found the previous version to download, how would I be able to purchase it from the website with what has gone on?

Exactly, you hit the nail right on the head djohn.
I have 1.1.0.325 from when tony was still around and as long as I'm running Xp Shadow Defender has a permanent place here.
