Added Prevx Safe Online (facebook) to my setup (in sig).

Tried a couple of firewalls today (PrivateFirewall and Windows Firewall control). Didn't like them.

So, still on default Windows firewall...I have no issues with that as I've never had a problem, but I was looking for something simple and effective that allowed for outbound control as well.

Yeah that didn't last long. Back to Avast! 6 I go. Hopefully I can set-up Comodo Antivirus on my other PC and see what the devs can do about a few bugs that are driving me off. The rest of the Comodo suite seems great though.

What you would call an exaggerated setup? :)
Mine is a breeze, after a few days, i rarely get any pop up.
Specially if you consider i have CIS v5.3 with EVERYTHING enabled and set to max.
The last time i got a pop up was like 2 weeks ago weeeew :D

The only time I get a popup is when testing malware or downloading a file.

I pulled Prevx off my one machine and put nothing in its place.

Well, I put Creer's no-UAC reg list into WinPatrol Plus, and I'll probably put Prevx back on pretty soon (for the umpteenth time).

LOL! Now I feel better about posting...
avast6.0 was basically uncooperative on install, so forgot about that.
Maybe it was Sandboxie hanging around, who knows.
Next I removed OA and then put Prevx back.
That gave me Prevx and Sandboxie... so I put WP PLUS back in place for the monitoring.
Hey, Creer's reg list isn't for XP is it? (Wondering for my own use)

Don't know. I've finally figured out my bios settings after a month of working at it and a year of freezes and procrastination, and now I'm doing a fresh install and making system images as I go, and instead of WinPatrol, it's now Mamutu that's paired up with Sandboxie. Figured if I'm adding a reg list, I might as well load up Mamutu instead.

I see most of the time you are coming back to ESET products (also Avira you seem to really like), how about you settle down for a while :D.

Thank you! No, you don't have a pathetic setup. ESET NOD32 is a nice AV, I have used it for months and I was never infected. You only need to strengthen or fortify your setup further.

Yeap! :D If all else fails or if a security product doesn't meet my requirements or needs, then I would go back to my baseline AV (ESET Nod/SS). ESET is the only product which runs smooth on my PC. For now, Avira Antivir Premium is running smooth as silk with Sandboxie. I might just settle down for a while as what you've said, or I might add more software such as a HIPS/BB or a third party FW. :D
