Tried Outpost 7.1 tonight, worked okay for a little while. Had in learning mode for all my programs and several reboots. Then it froze up. Had to uninstall in safe mode with their cleaner program. Back to Windows XP firewall along with DefenseWall 3.09.

Just in the process of trying to reinstall and reconfigure my virtual machine, after uninstalling Rollback Rx killed it. Not sure who mentioned previously in this thread that they had corruption issues when uninstalling apps like Rollback Rx, but yeah, here I am living through it.

I uninstalled as per their directions and still, corrupt data. Not happy at all. What a pain.

Not sure any app like Rollback Rx will make its way back onto my system after this. Oh well, bought a license...not sure I'll ever use it again.

    Hello,
    First, excuse my poor english.

My computer: IBM Laptop, 512 Mb, 40 Gb, proc. 1,6GHz

    My security option is:
    - Real-Time: Privatefirewall 7, Avira 10 free, WinPatrol Plus 19.3
    - On-demand: Malwarebytes'Anti-Malware 1.50.1 Free
    - Another: Sandboxie 3.50

Please tell me if this combination is good or not.
    Yours sincerely,
    ocsi

You combination is fine and more than enough to protect you against latest threats. Only thing you should do is to update to Sandboxie 3.52

    Hello ocsi
There is a newer version of Sandboxie available... 3.52.
    Maybe you knew that.

    Thanks for the prompt responses.

One more thing: a free security suite that Comodo IS or Outpost Security Suite Free would be better (instead of Privatefirewall 7, Avira 10 free, WinPatrol Plus 19.3)?

Trjam, just wanted to ask you as I won a license for Dr. Web Security Space and I know you like it and use it, how's the system impact and does the SpIDer Gate slow down browsing?

    Thanks

thanks hammer, it is very good and one of the lightest products I have used. I have to admit that its real time detection may not be as good as some others.

Thank you for answering. May be will try it a bit later then as I'm really tempted - haven't used it since version 4. For now I'm keeping my current set-up.

Not necessarily. In fact, most security suites aren't as good as individual products that specialize in their technology.

    Ultimately it depends on you.

    Added mamutu to the mix.
I don't know why. I really don't need a BB. I have sandboxie and CIS. That alone is enough.

I've diagnosed you with the "WSF Syndrome" (Wilders Security Forum), upon analyzing your behavior, i have came to the conclusion that you have a mild WSF Syndrome, please contact your doctor as soon as possible.
If not treated soon you can suffer a severe form of it.

To all other that are unsure if they're suffering this, please contact me for more information.

    Thanks
    Dr. Noobie ;)

One thing I found tonight is Dr Web comes with spider guard set for the optimal setting. I have changed this to paranoid and in testing it has caught all 15 links I threw at it. Now if FPs stay down I am totally pleased.

Yeah I think that I have a little WSF. I don't think that mamutu will last long. UNless it stays quit and I don't notice that its there.
