I have a SB6183 myself, to go along with the Netgear R6300v2. Very nice, compact modem... much smaller than it looked in the pictures I saw online. And well ventilated.

Got a Dell Precision M8300 Workstation with my tax return money. It has a Core i5 with all the integrated features I want (namely vt-d, which even many i7's lack) for my VM's. A 256 GB encrypted SSD. And 16 GB (2X8 GB) of RAM, only because it has 4 DIMMS and a 32 GB max and I wanted to be able to just add 2 more later instead of scrapping 2. But I only really needed 4 since I'm using XP & Debian. But you had to take 8 min. anyway.

I've said many times that I don't feel that anonymity is truly possible from your own home. Well with this thing I aim to obtain it with the help of some hotspots, a range extender and a perimeter device I created from spare parts. Can't wait to play with it.

Removed Adblock Plus from two computers and put µBlock back on. Adblock Plus was uninstalling/reinstalling itself after Chrome updates, which I see is an issue that some users are having. It grew to be a big hassle for me, so I'm glad to be back with µBlock.

Yes I tried that, but preferred WiFi Guard due to its ability to send email alerts, trust devices and label them, etc.

I've added ESET Nod32 AV to my setup. So my setup is now:

    OS: Windows 8.1 x64 Pro
Whitelisting: Software Restriction Policies, User Account Control
Blacklisting: Eset Nod32 AV (configured to be as light as possible)
    Other: Windows firewall

    Browser: Google Chrome x64
Whitelisting: µblock (3rd party scripts and frames), Group policy template (only whitelisted extensions allowed)
Blacklisting: µBlock (Ads + Privacy + Malware + Social subscriptions)
Other: Group Policy Template (cache disk redirected to RamDisk), other settings modified for security and privacy

Backup: Macrium Reflect x64 for daily incremental backup, backup to external HDD

It's been a really long time since I've changed the setup.

So, I figured I would give it a go.

    New setup in signature.

Not sure how long it will stay, but might as well see how it goes.

    *looks around*

    My current setup:

    OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1

    Security: Emsisoft Internet Security/Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium/Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit Premium/HitmanPro.Alert 3 RC (installed recently)

Browser: Google Chrome with uBlock, LastPass and Web of Trust

Used to be a Kaspersky Endpoint Security user, but I don't think anyone needs to know that.

I had Adblock Plus, but a certain Security Expert persuaded me to switch to uBlock... Love it since then.

On Windows I have made some minor changes, the first for a while. After running my Win 7 x64 box with MSE from the time the computer was custom built for me, I have changed to Panda Free. Better detection rates, simplicity and lightness were the main factors. Plus, unlike MSE, I don't have to manually update its signatures. In addition I still run SpywareBlaster, MBAM (on-demand) and use a variety of browser hardening depending on the particular browser being deployed Maxthon (mainly) with Firefox & Chrome. I now utilise Macrium Reflect for a regular safe uninfected/unborked image to go back to.

  21. Windows 7 32 bits ultimate:
    - Network: Norton DNS ConnectSafe, WFW filter in/outbound, disabled risk-ware
    - Browsers: IE11 for HTTPS (port 443), Chrome for surfing with uBlock, MBAE free
    - Basic user: lock user autoruns, deny execute scripts, deny execute in user folders
    - Everyone: deny execute in threatgate folders, deny elevation of unsigned programs

Giving NVT a try, now running NVT, MBAM, MBAE, Appguard, EAM, too much, going to have to get rid of something. Thinking Appguard, NVT, EAM, that should cover everything, yes, no??

I would keep MBAM only as an on-demand scanner and not run it real time. New version of MBAM not running "scheduler" all the time as a process.

As an addition to G1111's advice, I would also choose between ERP and AG. Just one of them is enough IMHO.
