After registering, I was able to post, but I encountered a 24 hour restriction on posts... like they were imposing a waiting period between posts.
I PMd a mod and soon I had full rights.

I am using WSA and WFC in realtime. HitmanPro is on demand. NoScript is in Firefox. I use Shared.com and OneDrive as cloud backups. DriveSnapshot takes care of the drive backups.

So what do you think? Is it simple and effective enough?

I am a little curious why 2 AVs, and are you using them real time simultaneously? I am afraid I could not think of any way to use that specific config.
What I meant to say, I guess, is that I don't see a layered security approach, therefore I don't think (imo) you'll benefit much from an additional AV.

WSA can be used as a second opinion AV an can run with other AV in real time. I agree with you about benefits - I also don't see much of it.

I guess also because of a Rollback feature?

Yes, rollback is nice additional feature but personally I would prefer system image restore over WSA rollback if system would get infected.

I trialled EXE Radar again since a few days ago and, as expected, it interfered with GIMP's operation. Now it has been uninstalled. Back to EMET and some other stuff. =V

    ACL policies update:

    - Public user folder = deny traverse/execute, create and write permissions for Everyone
    - Desktop folder = deny traverse/execute, create and write permissions for Everyone
    - Downloads folder = deny traverse/execute permission for Everyone
    - Non OS partitions = deny traverse/execute for Everyone; removed create, write and delete permissions for Users and Authenticated Users. So any creation, modification, overwrite and deletion activities in those places will require administrative approval.

DISCLAIMER: This setup is not meant to serve as a general recommendation. You are on your own risk if attempting to configure your computers according to my above setup.

EDIT: It looks like the Users group has never had create/write/delete permissions to start with.

Emsisoft has cloud voting and whitelisting to help taking decisions if that's what you are talking about.

What do you mean with this? Last time I checked they worked fine together on Win 8. Or do you perhaps mean that MBAE can not protect sandboxed processes?

On Win 7 x64 I just tested MBAE. When browser isn't sandboxed it's active, When browser is sandboxed it isn't ZVL still confirms they aren't compatible

    @ Peter2150

OK I see, so this is basically about MBAE not being able to protect "sandboxed" processes. So if you do not want to protect apps inside the sandbox, you can still install MBAE. :)

I think it's $65 ( Includes free updates for one year). After that, you can use it for lifetime without updates. Or you can purchase the maintenance package (updates) for of $10/year.

By the way, you can purchase the perpetual license (Lifetime) online through their Australian website: http://www.deepfreeze.com.au/orderquote.html Select "Standard" version and "Corp./Gov" as customer type.

Personally, I got it for free through a friend :)
