I know that WalMart and STaples are selling a repacked KAV 5 Personal + Firewall for $29.00 but what is that utility called? I know it's not KAV

    Defender Pro

The word must be out around here. I asked about it around Wilders about a month ago when the Local Wal-Mart had about a dozen, when I went back to buy it last week they had none!

If you want the boxed stuff, you can still find it at Fry's and outpost.com for $19.95, they also have the AV only version for $9.95

There is another one that's virtually identical, and uses Boomerang's innards--Guardian, which is also available at some OfficeMax's, and I've also seen it at Sam's Club.

I purchased Defender Pro at Target for $10 also. Here at the local OfficeMax the Guardian is similiar to the 5 in 1 Defender pro, only it is the eXtendia versions, I think it was $10 too. Good purchases if you are on a budget and don't like Freeware.

Yeah but does Defender Pro performs as well as the original good old Russian KAV 5? :)

Well no since it is 4.5 ;)
But like I said $10 VS $50. From my experiences they(KAV based) all perform pretty much the same.

    Hi tempnexus

It will perform just as well as Kav 5.0.121 (which is the version Defender sells), but there has already been three-four engine upgrades .142, .148, .156 and .227 i believe, and those you won't get. :)
