What is the better free av?

with so many free av's out there, would like to ask this community what free av is better? which one provides the best overall protection and ease of use? pc mag's and other sites all seem to give different av's as their "pick", but must wonder what is their true agenda and who is paying for their testing. that's why i'm asking this community... because you use the free av's that you post your opinions for.
