do so. Right now I use Paragon to image my C drive and it is stored on F, a mounted drive (no RAID). SSD to SSD takes four minutes on a slow day and recover six. I then use W7's backup to image to an external HD. Is there any advantages difference storing the W7s on the internal drive and the Paragons on the external? I also ponder backing up the backups but can't think of a scenario where that would be of use.

    the faster the better.

a house fire, flooding, theft etc...
if you don't have things backed at two different location, then it is not 'backed up'.

Agreed. I back up images at an off-site external, and in-house external and cloud storage (inside a TC container) just to be safe.
