Seriously the only thing that comes to mind is way back when. I had a floppy drive go bad. Now they don't even use them. My hardware has been very dependable. Knock on wood.:thumb: except for a couple of $6.00 fans.

Technology's weakest link in PC have been optical drives, these things break within a year of purchase no matter what brand and I have tried em all from Yamaha, Plextor to others, I have been extremely lucky with TEAC which outlasted all and died after four long years of good service. Case fans break as well but thankfully both the optical drives and fans are cheap nowadays. Hard drive follows but then I have two IBM drives, one 10k SCSI and one 15K SCSI still running strong after ten years of faithful service.

About case fans, I have seen Panamax fans which are a reputable brand and use ball bearings instead of sleeve bearings do last long when kept clean regularly.
