Last night I was on a web site Anti-Rootkit. I went to the forum and clicked on general discussion and noticed a couple of posts that seemed strange. One mentioned Brittny Spears. I clicked on it and it was porn. I closed it ,then checked again ,I wasn't dreaming. I closed it again and went into DefenceWall and went back to the site .Those posts were gone. Now porn is one thing,but how did it get stuck on there forum? Of course I didn't click on what was offered. Figured there could be anything ready to jump on me.
I have noticed it too, these spam bots are quite spreading around forums. Look on the PCFlank, there are more spams about Britney than normal posts.
The majority of them like the britney spears one that's on the PCflank Forums as I type this simply attempt to use social engineering to trick users into downloading a needed fake codec that usually come from places like mediaobjectsource, amediasoftware....etc.
It concerned me when I realized something was not right. I wonder if they try to put something on you.
