And what free anti-spyware would you recommend? Comodo as firewall, Avira/AVG as antivirus, but still we need an antispyware. :doubt:

    Thanks,

    SUPERAntiSpyware is a good choice.

Apart from Windows Defender, I think the only resident free one is SpywareTerminator.

You dont need real time spyware protection. To me thats overkill. I scan once a week with SuperAntiSpywaree and Spyware Terminator. Both are free.

Its not exactly defined as antispyware, but you could try Comodo BOClean.

Sometimes it's worth stepping up and supporting the companies that are providing all these quality software packages by purchasing their upgraded versions..... :)

I use Spyware Terminator (ST) along with AVG. ST is under continuous development and getting better all the time. I agree that real-time antispyware is necessary - don't leave home without it

It's also one of the worst anti-spyware apps out there with substandard detection rates. AAW falls flat on its face when it comes to today's malware, especially trojan and smitfraud detection/removal.

Since it appears that the OP is looking for one with real-time protection you simply cannot beat SAS Pro w/ lifetime updates for $20. If one cannot afford to spend $20 then you might as well ask Santa for a a subscription. :D

Install the pro version and update it to get the special url in the popup/update info window. Otherwise if you uninstall you get a special popup window with the $19.95 lifetime update offer. Even at the regular price of $29.95 it's a steal.

    I agree.
Plus you don't get real-time protection from the free version of AdAware either.
