Can't remember if I have responded to this before or not, sorry if I have.
I use ZAfree 4.5.594.000. Does an excellent job for my surfing which is basic. :)

I have already responded to this post, but I have recently stoped using 8Signs and began using CHX-I (http://www.idrci.net). It is pretty much a more advanced version of 8Signs that is free for personal use. It is a little harder to setup, but offers more security. It also uses almost no resources. I would recommend this to anyone that is willing to take a steep learning curve and learn more about there computer in the process.

Sorry about that, I was talking about the Packet Filter. It is rule based and if you take 30 minutes or so you should be able to set it up to fit your needs (depending on how you plan to use it)

I used Outpost Pro and Look 'n' Look, and I think Look 'n' Stop is much easier to used.

I use ZA, and have never had a problem, grc.com has a leak test, see if your firewall stops it.

Outpost and Look 'n' Stop both stop it and they have some statefull packet inspection and actually allow you to choose what ports are open or not :D

I like PCInternetPatrol but I dont think it should have any firewall features unless they are complete. Its nice to verify checksums but I rather have good SPI and be able to configure my Firewall...

Just about to buy Outpost (2.5). On the UK site, £39.99. On the German and Irish site, about the same numbers but in Euros. English site works out to about €60. Seems in some other places they're still on 2.0 or 2.1 Pays to shop around?

Probably because the US to UK conversion sucks... so they up the price on the US site to balance out the conversion rate. Guess UK peeps buying from US site get ripped off though?

On older Machine number 1: Zone Alarm Pro updated to last version of 5.1. Key has expired I'll stick with it I guess

Machine number 2: Norton Personal Firewall 2004, not sure on this one. But if it is expensive to renew, I will not. Might move on; worried about clean removal :doubt:
