Sometimes after reboot my quick-launch icons have been rearranged from their custom order to alphabetical. This is a huge inconvenience since there's nothing quick about launching your programs if you first need several minutes to rearrange the icons. I use Drive Snapshot to make a daily backup of my system, so in theory I could restore it, but that would take even longer. Can I just copy several files from that image to restore the quick-launch order? Which files to restore? Or is there a registry key that determines the order or the quick-launch icons?

(I'm also looking for a quick-launch bar save & restore tool, but haven't found one).

    Yes there is.

Likely you are using CCleaner... :D

Your crap cleaner is removing 'Streams' key:

    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Streams

Maybe you have checked 'Window Size/Location Cache' item in CCleaner; or in similar app..

    See here about.
