just curious about what beauty means to everyone:
to me it is how you feel inside and it shines through your eyes

Watching waterdrops bead on a very cold glass of beer on a hot day!

Watching the tip of my fishing rod suddenly dip when a big Spaniard Mackeral hits.

Watching the barbecue flare as a nice juicy steak drips marinade onto hot coals.

    :D :D

    ... everything/one holds/has it's own unique beauty ;) ... it's definitely in the eye of the beholder.

beauty is much more than skin deep ... ~deep thoughts~

**On the less serious side ... & a quite shallow note**

heck, even this guy has an unique beauty ... err, well maybe he's just ~unique~ ... LOL ... definitely a face for radio ;) :D

One form of beauty to me is watching an inocent little baby play or seeing the love in the mothers eyes watching her little one. Another thing of beauty to me is the sunrise and sun set, and the night sky that holds more wonders than I could possibly imagine. Actually I guess there is beauty everywhere if you will just take the time to look for it. Life is amazing and a beauty in itself.

I see beauty in a friend's loyalty. I see beauty in those who help the needy; I see beauty in that old person's smile who has an unexpected visitor. I see beauty in those who can love others for what they are, not for what they have or possess. I see beauty all around: trees, the sky, kids who play, people who laugh, rivers and lakes and of course, the forest and deserts.

Cochise, you reminded me of this song. :D

Oh Lord, it's hard to be humble,
when you're perfect in every way.
I can't wait to look in the mirror,
'cause I get better looking each day.
To know me is to love me,
I must be a hell of a man,
Oh, Lord, it's hard to be humble,
but I'm doing the best that I can.

I used to have a girlfriend,
but I guess she just couldn't compete,
with all of you love-starved women,
who keep clamoring at my feet.
Well I probably could find me another one,
but I guess they're all in awe of me.
Who cares, I never get lonesome,
'cause I treasure my own company.

Oh Lord, it's hard to be humble,
when you're perfect in every way.
I can't wait to look in the mirror,
'cause I get better looking each day.
To know me is to love me,
I must be a hell of a man,
Oh Lord, it's hard to be humble,
but I'm doing the best that I can.

Oh I guess you could say I'm a loner,
a cowboy I'm loud, tough and proud.
Oh I could have lots of friends if I wanner,
but then I wouldn't stand out from the crowd.
Some folks say that I'm egotistical.
Hell, I don't even know what that means.
I guess it has something to do with the way that I fill out my skin tight blue jeans.

Oh....... Lord, it's hard to be humble,
when you're perfect in every way.
I can't wait to look in the mirror,
'cause I get better looking each day.
To know me is to love me,
I must be a hell of a man.
Oh Lord, it's hard to be humble,
but I'm doing the best that I can.

To be quite honest, I sort of don't get too involved in what beauty means...it can come a bit too close to home, if you know what I mean, there are too many things in this World of ours that are so transient and yet make such an indelible impression on us all that we may have great difficulty in leaving it behind us when the time comes to say goodbye to it all........life is sweet and can be the most beautiful thing we will ever have lent to us for while, so just live it, feel it and enjoy it to the very best of your ability......I have.

hmm. the question was, "what does beauty mean to you" - not, what is beautiful to you. Many, not everyone, replied with the later.

Yes Cochise, one is defining the word beauty, the other is purely subjective view of what is beautiful.

    I agreed with Global force
Therefore my definition was, "Recognition of quality"

Blackspear, I too appreciate fine craftmanship in tools, machinery, etc :D - as well as anything my mind recognizes as quality - be it a woman, a perfect sunset, a walk on the beach, laughter of children...............
