I get this when I try to restore an archive into an empty section of my new 2.5" laptop drive.

Is it possibly a poorly written message or translation that means "Archive does not fit" or in other words is too big?

Backup of 120G disk being restored to 200G of space so it shouldn't be.

I guess we need to try the other possible meaning, it isn't in good shape.

Try Verifying the archive if you haven't.

    From the manual:

"When trying to restore a backup archive, I get the following error: "Can't restore to current selection" or "Archive does not fit".
Most likely you’re trying to restore a backup of the whole hard disk to a partition or vice versa."
