You hardly have to report any ads. Most of them are already gone.

Ad Muncher works fine for Youtube. I don't use https. It comes up as http every time.

I have 3 Ad Muncher Premium unlimited updates licenses

That is entirely dependent on the websites you visit.

I don't know how you could think otherwise unless you don't go to but a few places on the web. You'd certainly be wrong when it comes to foreign websites, which people like myself have to visit daily for business.

Mine comes up http sometimes and sometimes https. When it is https AM is useless.

About as short-sighted as you can get, enough said. There's a reason the results are "crap".

Version v4.93.33707/4774 for me. The only real issues I've had with AM in the past include the slow development (which is understandable to a degree as it's based somewhat on revenue) and the time period in the past where there was a forced beta use problem in which a person could only get advert blocking updates if they used the beta version. That apparently is not supposed to happen again though. I have no real hope or reason to believe that a new version (to filter https traffic) will be out this year or even next year.

At the moment only the standard ad blocker in Opera, which kinda sucks, but it´s good enough. :)

I will check out AdFender. Way back I tried AdMuncher, but it caused some problems.

I don't bother with that sort of thing.

Not to get too far off topic, but are there any firewalls or security suites available that block banner ads like Kaspersky does (no manual update of advert lists required)? I find that once the banner ads are blocked about 75%+ of my ad problems are gone, especially since the big banner ads are the ones that seem most annoying.

I'm not aware of any problems that Ad Muncher causes currently.

If you can point me to a specific issue on a site I would be happy to fix it for our current clients even if you still choose to use something else. :)

I remove ads on foreign sites in virtually every single list update.

no single language or country is excluded...

I remove all ads equally, the main metric I use is how popular a site is.

I use www.alexa.com for this purpose.

over the years I've been visiting the top 500 sites for each country and removing the ads I find: http://www.alexa.com/topsites/countries

This is in addition to any sites a user may report after I've checked its ranking on alexa and determine if it belongs in a default list.

Typically, if someone using Ad Muncher sees an ad, no one has reported it to me yet.

Not sure where you are getting your information from. :)

We are still on track for a v5.x release this year.

Quite a large portion of it is finished already.

    1) i use AdMuncher to get most of the stuff - almost never have to unblock anything
    2) then i use HostsMan to download and consolidate about about 10-15 different online hosts files - some stuff like SourceForge needs to be unblocked
    3) then i use PeerBlock to block IPs by country like Russia, China and few dozen others, plus there are several malware and adware lists as well and then i block all Google + Twitter IPs (that i know of) also, will get around to Facebook and others too. usually i only have to unblock google stuff here but its surprising the number of good sites that end up on the Malc0de IP blocklist. (easy to temporarily disable with a click)

    4) lastly ideally i would like to use Acrylic DNS Proxy or a similar type program that would allow domain blocking by wildcard and regex as well as import or download available hosts files - then i think i could do without PeerBlock and Hosts file programs. unfortunately the GUI for Acrylic isn't too good and adding blocking rules has to be done with just a text editor type interface. too easy to make errors.

also i notice Outpost Firewall has options for IP and domain blocking but idk if its serious blocker or not. iirc Avast had a section for blocking websites but then they said you should only put about 50 websites in there max so i thought it was kind of a joke.

Currently using EAM's HOSTS rules. Pretty nice IMO.

Personally, I use AdMuncher on all machines and recommend it to others, as it's not browser specific, and they do an amazing job at keeping the ad list updated (usually updated twice a day). Usually if I report an issue, they have it fixed within 24 hrs.

I agree with others in regards to https and I am hoping they come out with 5.x by the end of the year. Not that I would jump ship or anything if they didn't make it since I use most ad annoying sites as http.
