I don't know why people even bother with Webroot. They have horrible detection and came dead last in the last test http://av-comparatives.org

I can understand that even good products dont come first all the time, but they are always near the top on the whole product test. Webroot just plain sucks.

Have you had a chance to look at this thread? https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=320729 and more improvements are already in place so the next test from AV-C and others will be much better!

We never managed to schedule a remote session for this, but I'm definitely interested in doing so. If you could send me a PM with your availability, I'd be glad to take a look :)

The last released results of Webroot from AV-C are for the 2011/7.0 products, not from SecureAnywhere.

The worse thing you can do is have two programs with real-time protection running at the same time. Its not conflicts you have to worry about, its the fact that both programs may give priority to the other and if this happens, trojans can slip through the radar. Only ever have one program scanning for real-time threats.

That's generally true but not in the case of WSA which has deliberately designed to be compatible with other anti-malware applications. My understanding is that WSA will step out of the way if it detects activity by another AV in order to avoid a conflict. Only when the other AV is not active will WSA step in to do its work.

Thanks for that clarification, I'll be checking this out as I wouldn't mind another layer of protection.

If it steps out of the way, then its probably not providing a lot of value for the majority of the time, so you probably dont need it anyways ?

No, it doesn't stop protecting the system at any point. It just allows other AVs to block files without crashing the system. If they don't block it, WSA will block it.

    I have seen this happening.
First it allows ESET to block the Malware & if it doesn't then WSA will!!!!
    Nice !!:D :D :D
