I was awarded Silver VIP status in 1996 for my work as a beta tester and liaison for "Stank" Anti-Virus. The only anti-virus with a smell was their tagline. My all expense paid one way trip was to Linden, New Jersey on a Peter Pan bus. The staff showed me around Linden where we visited the Bayway oil refinery. They also showed me where the mob dumps all their bodies. Later on we all had FUNYUNS and warm Orangina. I hitchhiked home. It's all been downhill since. :thumbd:

There are worries abot the protection without Internet connection.

One major way to get infected while offline is USB Flash Drive....what if a USB Antivirus is being installed alonge with Webroot?(such as MC Shield)

Well WSA does have great offline protection as it has Offline Shield as well as USB Shield and also it monitors new files and processes and when you connect to the net then it communicates with the Webroot Cloud and if bad will rollback to the pre-infection state also WSA has some generic detections built in along with it's Heuristics.

    Thanks,

    Daniel :)

1-Regarding Webroot's USB protection, does it act as MC Shield or USB Disk Security?(I mean, does it block any autorun or it has something more?)

2-with all the intelligence, heuristics and behavior shields, how much is the offline protection estimated overally?

    Hi @Triple Helix
Using WSA for more than a year. I am liking it very much. The major advantage is of-course its unobtrusiveness. :)
I have two questions. WSA supposedly scans once in 24 hours. Is there any settings for changing the time it starts the scan? Also is there any way to change the type of scan it does on schedule (Quick, Deep, Full or Custom)?

You don't need to run a full scan the Default Deep Scan is all you need. The Realtime Shield is always keeping an eye on your system.
    Thanks Kent!

    Daniel :)

I really like Webroot SA, but dont use it because Extension Filter really slowdown my browser speed.
I hope version 2015 will "fix" it ...

Well personally I don't see any slow downs from the Web Filtering Extensions but they are looking at a better solution as Chrome is forcing users to get all extensions from the Chrome Store so you must go there to get the latest Extension now 1.0.0.40: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/webroot-filtering-extensi/kjeghcllfecehndceplomkocgfbklffd

    Thanks,

    Daniel *puppy*

Extension in Firefox slows me down too, especially when opening multiple tabs within a few seconds. So its disabled here. :)
