I have contacted support on the issue of WSA not remembering manually protecting applications by ID shield after updating. It probably saves the rule based on file hash and I asked if it could be changed to remember based on file path as well but it wasn't satisfactory:

Wouldn't it be better to post this at the Webroot Community?

I have the same problem when updating SlimJet browser, have to add it every time.
From what I read in the answer you got, they said they will "for sure add any browser", maybe just not this browser...

Well there are no issues with the supported browsers. IE, Firefox and Chrome not sure about others?

Just installed the latest version of Webroot Security Plus on Windows 7 64 bit. I have latest version of Google chrome, and when I do a search the safety ratings just sit there spinning processing link on the search results. I disabled the setting in Webroot to not show saftey ratings on searches, and the safety ratings are still trying to work, but are stuck on processing link. The only way I can shut down the safety ratings is to disable the Webroot chrome extension which is version 1.0.0.40.

I also have IE 11 updated, and the safety ratings work correctly when the saftey ratings are enabled or disabled.

I have rebooted computer multiple times, and open and closed Google chrome multiple times, and the safety ratings in search results is bugged on my machine. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem would be appreciated. Thanks

Ok I finally found out on the Webroot forums it is a bug they are currently working on and no fix yet I guess cause it's doing the same thing on my computer.

It is annoying to see spinning circles on search results, and the only way to disable the search safety ratings is to disable the Webroot chrome extension. Disable safety ratings in Webroot settings does not work. Not sure what the Webroot chrome extension covers in terms of protection.

Chrome store extension 1.0.2.40 has the same effect as the Webroot program installed version as neither one work correctly. Both have the spinning circles safety ratings which is very annoying.

When I disable the extension in Google chrome, does it disable any Webroot protections?

Yes the Latest version of Chrome has broke the Web Shield Extension when it's fixed I will post in this thread! Don't blame Webroot it's all on Chrome! WSA has many Shield's and you are still very well protected and disabling the Extension does just that Disables the Extension the rest of WSA will protect you!

I disabled the extension and then tested chrome with the Eicar standard and SSL protocols. and it nailed them all.

Thanks for the information, and I appreciate the help.

How about incorporating the webshield inside WSA so an extension isn't needed?

Yes they are looking at better ways of delivering the Web Filter and the last I heard probably end of the year or into 2015 we might see something but hey maybe it can support more Browsers as well wouldn't that be nice!

i agree i would love to see the webshield integrated so as to not have to always use an extension for it.

I am confused by terminology here, there is a "web shield" option within WSA (under PC security) as well as the extension. What does the extension actually do? Is it just icons next to search results or does it block sites, check HTTP streams etc. as well?

As far as I understand, the filtering extension will be constantly checking with Webroot, Inc.

Thanks, that helps. Seems extension does more than just checkmarks.

About the Webroot extension and Google chrome browser. I used the filtering extension version 1.0.2.40, and the safety ratings do work correctly with Bing. Google and Yahoo have the spinning circle safety ratings.
