So basically Webroot is now adding a new cloud engine with that acquisition? It'll probably take some time before it's implemented though!

I've been asking for granular firewall support for Win 8 & 10 for ages. Even Joe said it would never happen due to the Windows API, but now it's finally happening! Do you know what changed the Devs' minds?

Well I'm not going to take full credit but I have been pushing the Firewall Controls to be back and you will never guess who coded the Firewall controls.

Thanks. I wish they had a "Ask before taking action" type toggle that most other AVs use. It would seem to be a lot more logical and user friendly than the three seperate, vague toggles.

 

And that's good too! Not sure how much better Flowscape is than Webroot's in-house 'intelligent cloud', but it must be better if Webroot paid that much money for it!

Yes. I cannot understand why they wouldn't listen.

Joe said something like this after removal of the granular firewall: "Protection is as good as it was before. There is no need for the firewall in Webroot since Windows has its firewall neatly integrated these days"

He was so sure of it that it's kind of lame now that Webroot's implementing it. Nothing has changed since then so it must be a strategy to add more features since Windows Defender is starting to kick 3rd party vendors' asses in the lab tests.

Anyway, I'm happy it's finally getting re-added.

 

Trip...I want to do some experimenting because some web pages are loading very strangely
and I have it narrowed down to the web root program...how does one turn of web site or individual web pages in side the GUI?
I thought i might be UBlock and other things but have it down to web root
When I have it on at COU especially I end up with three or four avatars on the left side
when refresh a few times or turn off web root all is swell just as an example..

Now with web root off pages load fast and furious and no refresh needed or I just turn off
web shield I get orange color and white..icon in taskbar with an exclamation point
Is there not a way just to stop web page monitoring and have everything green and no

How weird! I have the exact same issue and it started once I installed Webroot on the machine!

Is your problem that websites don't load completely as well sometimes? And sometimes they are loaded but they look very weird (with mostly text and many pictures aren't loaded)?

 

Yep, this is EXACTLY what I get too!

 

Will FlowScape a network IDS be implemented in the webroot consumer version?

Palemoon is not officially supported but since your running the Beta uncheck this and restart the browser and if it continues Submit a Support Ticket so they can get some logs from you and chat with them.

 

it will do this unless I have web root turned of or like trip did and dis-engage web shield!

The newest Chrome v53 has broken the the Extensions in WSA and you have to install them from the Chrome store or forcing to install from the Chrome store.
