Hello, I'm in love with PrevX and can't w8 for this new combined version. Some questions here:

    1) Does this (like 3.0) check files before they run?
    2) Will we be able to update to beta versions?

One more question, which I was told Prevx 4 would work like.

Does this little fellow allow to enabled the SafeOnline feature only to selected processes and selected user accounts?

SafeOnline is substantially extended in the beta - there is a lot of added functionality which you'll all see when it starts :)

We will be having a phased beta rollout - we will try to include as many users as we can but it's possible that not all will be chosen for the first round.

This is good news, I wonder just how long this will all take?

Pre Beta, then Beta, then a possible withdraw of the beta, before its final release:cautious:

So we could still be many months away before a final release:(

This under other circumstances might not be such a big issue.

But, unfortunately the Prevx development team has decided to stop fixing any issues in vers,3 so we are forced to wait for vers. 4 relying on a flawed Prevx AV.
I'm not saying it's crap, but it's definitely flawed, by choice!

From my experience most vendors still ensure or at least try to ensure, their current AV is up to standard, even if they are working on a beta release.

Prevx has in the past, always responded and fixed issues as soon as they were known.

Sadly I have to say, this no longer appears to be the caseo_O

It's like buying a car with a flawed braking system, being told to wait for the next model where the issue or issues heave been resolved, you should still be safe.

Well all I can say is release the next model ASAP, or fix my brakes now;)

    Hi :)

I gave a look but, just to be sure, i prefer to ask anyway: i'm currently using Prevx 3 and KIS 2011.
Will i be able to use the new suite and KIS 2011 despite the fact the not only the firewall but also the proactive and application control features of the two products should overlap?

My compliments for the new product and thanks in advance

For what PrevxHelp said, yes. It is intended to run alongside any other antivirus or firewall.

I also need to ask about BrightCloud!

Is SecureAnywhere going to take advantage of BrightCloud in some way?

If NOT, are you planning on doing so in the future?

    Thanks!

I'm guessing that since there was never an indication that the Facebook version of PrevX SOL would be a permanent fixture;it'll no longer function or be replaced.I might be wrong but Webroot aren't exactly renowned for their free offerings.

One question I have is if my memory serves me correctly SpySweeper came bundled with Ask junkware, whereas PrevX has always been clean, which model will the new product follow?

If "SafeOnline" facebook version dies, I think quite a few people has got to rethink some strategy. I know I'd have to rethink it, because I have relatives using it.

But, if you ask me... Webroot would only have to win with a "facebook" version, because it would provide malware samples to them, as well. But, that's just me thinking. *puppy*

Your thinking is perfectly sound in that a free offering can bring benefit to a company in terms of more malware samples,it depends really how much influence the PrevX team still have over Webrot.

Guess it will be a few weeks like the signup page says. I hope I make the cut as well. Time will tell.

I have Prevx paid at home and we now have the enterprise version at work. So definitely want to get my hands on this!

If Webroot is integrating Prevx's technology, maybe they can use their GUI too, instead of that lime-green disaster :D
