Outlook.com is also incompatible with IE11 and they were both made by the same company and should work together. ^.^

We're working on fixing compatibility with the new web filtering extension and Windows 8.1. I don't have an exact ETA but it can be updated without updating the overall WSA, so you might not get a notification of it - I'll post here when it's pushed out.

Just to clarify, is this a problem with Web filtering with any browser or just IE 11 in Windows 8.1?

WSA is not alone. Some older versions of Symantec software that had been patched for 8.1 ended up not working once 8.1 and IE 11 was released. I do not know quite what happened, but is it possible that Microsoft had some late or last minute changes that may have broken the compatibility patches some companies already coded? I really wonder this with the apparent issues within Microsoft's own product outlook.com.

I believe this is indeed what happened - it was working with the prerelease versions but something changed with the final build.
