Running v4.0.424.0 on XP Pro Box fully patched with Spyware Blaster and MVPS HOSTS as layered protection.
Have been using ESET web access protection since it has been available as as feature in the software.

Since Spyware Blaster and MVPS HOSTS block much, is it overkill to also run web protection ?

    IE8 is my primary Browser.

Web protection scans anything coming in over an HTTP protocol for malicious patterns and drops suspect traffic before it can reach a program where its payload can be executed. I would not consider disabling it just because you use a blacklist product, as new malware domains are coming on far more quickly than such lists can be updated.

Thanks for the feedback - as it makes sense, appreciated.

Also web protection uses a more sensitive heuristics than other modules so it makes sense to leave it enabled.

Thanks, Marcos - appreciate official ESET point of view. :thumb:
Will leave Web Access Protection alone for now.

    Kind regards,
