    Reinstall , Clean installation.

    1. Download fresh new ESS from whereever you got your version from , I personally won't post links
    1. Uninstall your current version from Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs
    2. Reboot the computer when prompted
    3. Delete manually these three folders

    - C:\Documents and Settings\All users\Application data\Eset
    - C:\Documents and Settings\your user\Local Settings\Application data\Eset

    4. Install again ESS . Use Typical install . Update after install . Reboot and report back your findings

This is interesting as I have the same issue. Once i remove everything and then reinstall it works perfectly until I restart then I get the web protection error.

What other security software are you running along with ESS?? Did you use another firewall / antivirus prior to ESS other than NOD32??

I had the same problem coming from Comodo/nod32 2.7 to ESS, it kept giving me the same problem until I reinstalled and that did the trick. Of course It was my solution perhaps you won't have to reinstall....
