    Using ATIES 9.5 build 8206

I have a weekly backup that is set up to use VSS - each time it runs I get the following two events:

    Source: VSS
    EventID:11
Volume Shadow Copy Service information: The COM Server with CLSID {faf53cc4-bd73-4e36-83f1-2b23f46e513e} and name VSSEvent cannot be started. [0x80029c4a]

    Source: VSS
    EventID: 8193
Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error calling routine CoCreateInstance. hr = 0x80029c4a.

VSS seems to be installed properly, vssadmin list providers brings up:

Microsoft Software Shadow Copy provider 1.0
    Acronis VSS HW Provider

vssadmin create shadow /for=c: starts the volume shadow copy service.

We are on server 2003 sp2. Backups are created but it looks like we are not benefitting from vss.

How can I get Acronis VSS working properly?

    Thank you.

    Hello Levwinski,

Thank you for using Acronis Corporate Products

There can be several reasons of the encountered issue.

Please go here and plug in those error numbers, you should be able to find some help. For example, under the info for 8193, there is a reference to an article from tech support that can help.

    Thank you.
