Are your Advanced Settings at defaults? Automatically quarantine files with 5 or more positive detections. Checked or not checked?

    @VoodooShield

    Have you added

    • VM\sandbox\virtualization awareness; and
    • MBR modification

to the Ai detection algorithm - or Ai doesn't do actual code inspection that deep ?

    Upon file execution detection ?

When run in local sandbox detection ?

Cuckoo Sandbox might detect, but it depends on whether or not they hardened it against VM aware malware. MBR modification should be detected by it.

I have been re-testing VS on my laptop, and it still causes a lag in responsiveness that is very frustrating cause I love the program, so I will have to continue beta testing on a spare machine. Has anyone here ever had this issue? My laptop's specs>>>ASUS X501A-BSPDN22 Intel Pentium 2020M (2.40GHz) 4GB Memory 500GB HDD
    Intel HD Graphics 15.6" Windows 7 64-Bit

Not here, no impact at all on the system. May be you are piling up too many security tools on the system?

I've never experienced a lag in responsiveness with any version of VS from 2.86 to 3.43..
    My Laptop is ASUS X58L (2.00GHz , 2GB RAM) Windows 10
...and I am running it with a lot of other software too.

No system lags with VS here. See sig for RAM etc.

Tested VS in many OS configs and hardly notice it's there.

    @mantra
VS works alongside ESET Internet Security very nicely, so guess the same should apply to Smart Security.

Other than @Logethica you guys have fast machines compared to mine, but every system is different regardless of the specs

Wow, I have a lot of post to catch up on... sorry I have fallen so far behind.

Here is 3.44... the 3-4 bugs that were mentioned should be fixed, and I also added a "VoodooShield Scan" Windows explorer right click context menu option.

    https://voodooshield.com/Download/beta3/InstallVoodooShield.exe

BTW, on the regedit... just as cmd.exe, I found a way to safely auto allow regedit, even when VS is ON. There are basically several checks before regedit is allowed... the main one being that the path cannot contain arguments, in order for it to be auto allowed when VS is ON.

So I think the only remaining bug is the Windows 10 Cuckoo Sandbox RDP sessions. It turns out, there is nothing wrong with the VS code... it is just that Windows 10 cannot connect to the Cuckoo Server's RDP sessions for one reason or another... I am still trying to figure that out.

If there are any other bugs, please let me know, thank you! I really will catch up on the posts asap!

Okay, did a clean install. Smalle bug is that latest Nitro reader 5.5.9.2 is not recognised as web app (you already know that one).
Have to wait for a while to see if there are any problems like with a Google Chrome update.

Just updated to latest and the icon disappeared from the tray after about 5mins. Checked task manager and VS processes were listed. Re-booted and it's back. I had uninstalled previous before installing 3.44 (#12460).

EDIT: Gone again. Was uninstalling 360TSE and clicked an 'allow'. But now it's back again while I'm typing. This is confusing to me. I've not seen this before with VS. Is it supposed to do this?

I think it is fixed, but I will keep an eye on it. Please try it again and let me know if it happens again. I kept the same version number 3.44 since is was such a small fix.

Hi Guys, long time no VS use, but I am keen to try the latest version. A couple of quick questions:
    1. How is the VS freeze bug going, sorted yet?
    2. Is anyone using Windows Defender on Win10 had VS freeze on them?
    Thanks.

    Dan,

Editing a Command Line wildcard doesn't delete the matching Command Lines.

I edited rmdir /s /q "c:\~00~\0.0x0" and replaced the 0 with a star and the other Command Lines are still shown, where they used to be deleted.

    Command Lines.PNG

And the edited Command Line (the one with a star) does not appear in the list.

    VS 3.44 Beta.

    Thanks.

Edit: Hmm, after I moved away from Command Lines to view other settings in VS the Command Line with a star is now showing and the others have been deleted, so it looks like I need to move away from Command Lines and navigate back to see the change.
