Yep, tried to register with the same email as before and firewall is not blocking. Installed and uninstalled a few times with same results. Last resort I even did a uninstall with Revo Pro incase of any corrupt files. Same results. Dan might have to look at it on his end.

The free version doesn't require registration.

You won't be able to customize settings but the default works well enough for most home users.

To those who have used both VoodooShield and NVT EXE Radar Pro ... anyone care to give pros and cons of each? NVT EXE Radar Pro seems simpler in my initial assessment, but not sure if VoodooShield offers more protection?

Both are actively supported and equally secure

Plus, both products are very well executed at what they do.

Is one better than the other? My opinion...No.

But, I think the only way you'll truly find out the pros and cons of each product, is to try both of them out for yourself.

Its always good to get ones opinion, but in the end...its what you like that matters the most.

I normally do not scream at the TV while I am watching it, but I have been watching / (mainly listening) to a lot of RSA videos (and other security conference vids) on my Roku the last few weeks while I am going to sleep. Anyway, appearently every security vendor is now focusing on preventative measures (instead of reactive measures) and somehow they have realized that the endpoint is now the perimeter ;).

We (you guys and and other proactive solutions) could have told them that 4+ years ago ;). I mean REALLY!!!

I took 1.5 days off because I really needed it, but now I am all fired up again. There are a few bugs in the beta that I have noticed, but I should have them fixed very soon. Sorry that I have not been able to talk with you guys the last month or so, but hopefully you will understand what I am trying to do ;). I promise, once this version is finished, things will go back to normal.

Talk to you soon, thank you ;).

Dan, you have a ton of drive and I think that is an excellent quality you have about yourself.

Your desire to keep going, is what makes VoodooShield such a beautiful product.

Keep up the great work, you're doing an excellent job!

Thank you for what you do, I truly do mean that :)

I really am not sure, are you running XP? XP still has a few bugs but they should be easy to fix. I am going to bed, but let's talk soon ;).

My brother was complaining that when he tried to run Minecraft, VoodooShield kept asking if he wanted to block or quarantine it. I investigated and it seems VoodooShield was ON even though his browser was closed. What else will make VoodooShield turn ON?

For now I put it in training mode.

Look in Web Apps. Look for a web application that's 'bolded' (darker thicker text). If there. That's the app that's holding VS blue. May have to End Task in Task Manager.

VS will also toggle to ON if a USB device has been plugged in.

    BUG

    VDS v. 2.71g

When extract archive using PeaZip, VDS will generate a commandline block warning balloon - but nothing is blocked = file is extracted.

The commandline block does not show up in the User Log - as it is spurious... an annoyance rather than any type of critical malfunction.

    Best Regards,

    HJLBX

Please add these legitimate commandlines to VDS internal database - if possible to do so:

    "c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe" "c:\windows\system32\winethc.dll",forceproxydetectiononnextrun
    c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe invagent.dll,runupdate
    "c:\windows\microsoft.net\framework64\v4.0.30319\ngentask.exe" /runtimewide /stopevent:492
    c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe c:\windows\system32\generaltel.dll,rungeneraltelemetry "c:\windows\appcompat\appraiser\telemetry\appraiser_genteloutput.xml" vc0dhtplgemlyfgo.3 throttleutc
    rundll32 c:\windows\system32\generaltel.dll,runinusercxt vc0dhtplgemlyfgo.3.1 isadmin

    "c:\program files\comodo\comodo internet security\cavwp.exe" /modeavboosthelper -embedding

    Right now it's just v2.71 Beta not 2.71g! https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/voodooshield.313706/page-280#post-2492808

    Thanks,

I think I've found a bug. It seems Chrome won't fully close with VoodooShield installed, leading to VS staying "ON" until Chrome is killed in Task Manager. Pretty positive it's VS causing it as Chrome only stays running on the two PCs I've installed VS on.

Dan is aware of this, I reported the same issue as well.

I am glad you said something though, this confirms that it's happening on other machines.

The same situation here is also happening to a game I own.

I've tried troubleshooting it myself, but with no luck.

Yeah, I've reported VS holding blue to be advised = check Web Apps for bold. As if bold font app is what's holding VS blue.
Not the other way round that VS is holding the app bold. Although that's what I've suspected.
    Go figure ...

Sorry I have been away, but I have made a lot of progress. This release seems to be super stable on Vista and above, although for some reason I cannot get the multithreading to work on XP like I want it to. I guess there is a chance that XP is just not capable of doing what I want it to do. It seems to be working great with XP, but if anyone who is running XP wants to try it and let me know how it does, I would appreciate it!

There are several new features. Now there is a "Scan & Allow" mode, that basically blocks the file and scans it. If the scan comes back clean, then it is auto allowed. So it is kind of like a training mode that scans. I was not sure what to call it, so for now I just called it Scan and Allow. Once you guys try it and become familiar with it, if you think of a better name to call it, please let me know. I was also thinking about calling it something like "IntelliScan", Safe Training, Training(Scan) or AVMode. Also, we probably do not want the users to run in this mode all of the time, but it would be a great way to safely train VS for the first couple of weeks. I also added a feature that automatically filters false positives, and alerts the user that although a threat was detected, VS believes it to be a false positive, and calculates the odds that it is a false positive or not, and lets the user know. I made the color of this prompts a cross between the Blue and Red, so it is Purple for now ;). We can make it grey or some other color, or keep it purple, just let me know what you guys think.

I also added Java blacklisting. If Chrome is going to disable Java, we might as well blacklist it, right? ;). I also added a feature where VS monitors Windows StartUp locations... I just added the main ones for now, but will expand this feature some more very soon.

As soon as I get a chance, I will catch up on the posts!

Hmmm, are you using some kind of firewall that could be blocking VS's registration confirmation?

Odd are you sure nothing is blocking VS?
