@ichito i can say that its the 2.5 Version and there is no key in the zip. Also you can use a discardemail adress.

Dan knows about it and it is unauthorized but it's a Free version not a full version that needs an online account so waiting for a reply from Dan.

Its now free for home use - the advanced settings are grayed-out on the home edition of VS but its plenty powerful protection for average users with the default settings.

I would recommend it over Bouncer for there's nothing to screw up that might get you locked out of your own computer.

As an AE, its pretty fool-proof.

I don't think you can because you don't get customizable options in the home version. They appear only if you upgrade.

Dan asked me a few days ago if I thought the Desktop Shield Gadget settings should be accessible in the free version. I informed him I thought it should because of gamers, and watching video in full screen mode. I don't know if he has made a decision yet, but he sounded like he was considering making it accessible in the free version in the near futures.

FWIW ~ I think Free should not have Account Features.

Well I did ask Dan and he doesn't want to go with a Keycode so Online Account it is. And you don't have to use the Cloud for your Whitelist! And I can't remember do you need an Account for the Free version?

    Thanks TH
Perhaps, I'm not being clear. With Free I think eg: synchronize and backup cloud should be grayed = not available. Free would have local backup. I think Account Features should be Pro.
Maybe Account is not even an option with Free. IDK

It is AppLocker for home versions of Windows.

So if you install group policies but AppLocker doesn't show up, this will lock down your system.

I haven't followed this program much since it used to cost money, but from what I remember it was incredibly effective at preventing malware, am I correct? Is this something I should be installing on click-happy family members' computers?

Is v2.70b the latest beta version announced here?

It seems like v2.70g is available (saw it at Majorgeeks).

Just tried downloading (but not installing for now), the program file Install VoodooShield.2.70g beta.exe can be found at VoodooShield website.

Dan has been extremely busy fixing bugs, and i'm not sure what else he has going on. There will be many bug fixes in the next release. These fixes address bugs that were introduced with the new rework of the multithreading. Dan has virtually redone everything from the foundation up. The next release should run amazing.

I did not know Dan made 2.70g available to the public yet, but it fixes at least about a dozen bugs i'm aware of.

VS is way better now in functionality than it previously was, and it's compatible with all other AE applications i'm aware of. If I was you I would wait until the next beta release, and give it a try. The next beta release will be soon. I think he will have most of the bugs worked out since reworking VS from the foundation up.
