Actually, it is just 6 months free, no payment required. I am going to see if I can get that extended even longer for the users on Wilders who have helped us beta test VS, you guys have been a great help to us!

The balloon notifications are only up for a few seconds so by the time you have seen them it has been too late to act.

Further, will VS run from a Limited User account?

I agree about the popup time and mentioned it in post 229 (page 10) and VS said the time was hardcoded. It really needs to be changed because presently the popups are a waste of time, for those whod like to actually look at the information they present. An option to turn off or leave on for x amount of seconds up to a maximium of 30 secs would be preferable to me.

This is where the event log/editor would be priceless.

    Hi,

I was NOT able to install it because Norton NIS 2012 detects it as WS.Reputation.1 (see attached Jpgs) and places VoodoShield installer immediately in quarantine.

Of course, I can disable temporarily the AV shield, but that is not the point.
Maybe you VoodoShield guys should contact Symantec and clarify this issue.

    Thanks

Perhaps you could contact them (Symantec) yourself? That would be the most efficient way.

We can change the time on the balloon notifications, we will probably make it adjustable in the settings.

Yes, it will run just fine from a limited account, although at some point soon we will run it as a service, which will be even better. We want to get everything working right and get all of the bugs out before we install services on people's computers. Right now, the installer basically just copies the files to your hard drive and creates one registry setting for startup, so it uninstalls great. Thank you!

If you click options shown in the screenshot you posted ,it allows you to restore and exempt the installer file without having to disable auto protect.I also use NIS and to be honest its NIS that is the problem, with its reputation logic.,, .Ive had loads of legetimate progs blocked because it seems not many other NIS users like the programes i do :cautious:

Somehow I ended up with two registry entries (probably from installing new VS beta over previous). It was being flagged as a generic trojan by TrojanHunter program scanner. These were the two:
    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\VoodooShield
    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\VoodooShield
I just did a clean install of VS (using CCleaner to delete the two VS registry entry's) and that took care of it. Just wanted to let you know in case someone else encounters this.

Yeah, as we all know, that is the problem with traditional blacklist security products. They do not know what is a virus and what is not a virus, there are to many to keep up with. VS just assumes everything is unless the user allows it. We can try to get a hold of Norton, but most likely they will not do anything about it. We had that problem with McAfee in the beginning, but I believe they have corrected the problem.

Yes, I know, the problem is not that I can not install it, I just posted because I think the guys from VS should be aware of this.

Here is the final beta version of VS! The 64 bit bug is fixed, along with several other bug fixes. This is essentially the commercial release version, unless our friends here at Wilders find more bugs!

It will prompt you to update, but please just ignore that. Please let us know what you think! We will be adding a few advanced features in the next few weeks, but this is an extremely stable version.

Thank you to everyone for all of your help!

Did clean install and no problems to report thus far. Noticed new option for sending log. There is no option to view log though. I hit the button so I sent a log file.

G1111, hi, the send log files button is to send us the logs in case someone runs into problems. We will at some point have an option to view the logs and edit the white list.

Thanks noons, please let us know what you think!

Here is an updated link, the old one is disabled now.

Thank you! Here is a list of the major bugs and changes in 1.0. I think you will notice that 1.0 is extremely stable.

-Windows 7 64 bit killing processes that should not have been killed

-Icons were different colors after reboot

    -problems with the auto update

    -Problems with auto deactivation

-Added Send Log Files button to settings screen for users who experience problems

I just ran into a severe problem. I had set VoodooShield to "Always on" and left the computer on. 10 minutes later when I got back o the computer, it's put in "Train me"-mode (as it should be)... but isn't set to "Always on" when I get back to activity.

I tried launching an unknown program and indeed Voodooshield is in "Train me"-mode even though "Always on" is selected.

Doesn't seem to be a problem on 32-bit.

Yeah, that is a problem, thank you for telling us about it. Does it happen over and over, or did it only do it once? Not that it is acceptable for it to ever do it. Can you go to the settings screen and click Send Log Files? And can you please email me your email address that you used to register VS? Thank you for your help!

Also, can you try to uncheck the automatically deactivate on the settings screen and see if it still happens with that unchecked? We had some problems with the auto deactivation, but we thought they were fixed. Thank you!
