I'm getting ready to send my findings by e-mail. I will have to send them from another e-mail address of mine since my Yahoo e-mail is not working.

Quick update... We figured out the Windows 8 / 8.1 issue, and it is going to take several days to fix it. Most of the other bugs are fixed, so we should be good to go very soon.

BTW, has everyone seen this, it is really cool!

Still waiting patiently. Perhaps you would be kind enough to give us another heads up, VS, re. progress, etc? :)

    Cheers

Dan emailed me the night before last, and I think he was about to fall asleep at the keyboard. He had been working on VS for 16 straight hours. I think it is going to be a week before the next release, but i'm sure that's subject to change.

    Cheers, Cutting_Edge.

Dan, if you are reading this please do not take my post as a chase or sign of impatience...I was just enquiring as to how things are going. As has oft been said before...take your time. Your VS fans would rather have it right than quickly.

Have a peaceful weekend (and hopefully a restful one, too). :thumb:

    Regards

I have the same mindset Baldrick has. I don't want to see any rush jobs done due to the recent setbacks. I know in the end the finished product will be great so the wait is nothing to me. Besides, it's hard to imagine how anyone could complain considering all the free license Dan has given out. I hope everyone will be patient.

It's cool, thanks guys! I pretty much had to scrap the entire project that the other developer was working on, it just was not working out. It actually ran pretty well under Windows 7, but not Windows 8. But the main problem was that it did not have the responsiveness or feel that VS 1.30 has. I am able to use some of the code from the last several months, so that helps some. I have made a lot of progress, and I am sure it will be done within about a week. I can say this for sure this time since I am the one doing all for the coding, and I know what I have left to do and how much time I can spend on it. When it is finished, it will have the same responsiveness and feel as 1.30, since I wrote all of the versions of VS 1.0 since 1.04. I actually just have 1 major issue to figure out, then the rest should be pretty easy and straightforward.

Thanks for the update Dan. No rush here, VS 1.30 working fine. I am sure it will come together soon.

Yes, thanks, Dan...for being so open about where you are with things...that just cements the confidence we have in VS. As I said before...even though 1 week sounds great...if it needs 1 month or more...we will wait...as Cutting_Edge said "I know in the end the finished product will be great so the wait is nothing to me."

    Cheers

That being the case, I'll just go ahead and install v1.30 on my, cough, XP box.... not time left to wait for extra protection.
Running DefenseWall, EAM under Shadow Defender. VS should be the extra I need.

Hey ! Where's the preview button...
Oh well ! Hope this post looks OK

    -cheers,

Running EAM, VS and DW together. Sounds very familiar.

Post looks fine. Yes, where is the preview button?

When you are quoting someone it becomes available when you press the 'more options' button.

If you are posting without quoting the option is already there.

Hi, sorry, I was not happy at all with that version, it was just a really bad version, so I removed the link and started over pretty much from scratch.

I will be posting the new version within a week for sure, if not, sooner. I am shooting for Thursday night / Friday morning. But if not, I am quite sure I will be able to finish it over the weekend. Thank you!
