Hard to believe, even coming from Microsoft. I'll wait for confirmation, like i patiently wait for Vista's discoveries.

As far as Microsoft is concerned, Vista is current and everything else is out of date. I still think that the OS multitudes of the early 1980's was the way to go. :D

According to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/lifecycle/default.mspx XP will be available for retail sale until January 29, 2008 and January 29, 2009 for OEMs.

And XP will be fully supported until 14/04/2009 with extended support to 08/04/2014 http://support.microsoft.com/lifecycle/?p1=3223 (because they promise to support 5 years after a product retires.

Sad thing is Vista is only 3 years behind XP, which shows how much shorter a lifespan MS expects from Vista. Of course this could change as for vista as service packs are released or upgraded versions launched, eg a Vista SE.

Do not take this dates so seriously. These are due to change for sure, as they are only estimations. I personally doubt Ms will support XP for another 7 years.

    LOL :D
