Microsoft has finally compiled the final RTM version of Service Pack 2 (SP2) for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008. As usual, the setup installer for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 SP2 have been leaked to Internet for free download by all, way ahead of official Microsoft release.

The final RTM of SP2 for Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista has the file build version of 6002.18005, with full string of 6.0.6002.18005

    Hello,

Is there any word on when SP2 of Windows Vista will be pushed out to Windows Update? Also, to people who have beta tested SP2 Beta/RC - how much of a performance improvement is there compared to SP1?

    Regards,

    Mark.

I have just installed Vista SP2 slipstream as a clean setup and it works fine. Can not tell, if there is any difference, I used RC before, but it seems to be faster. :)

Mark, I have read, that RTW (release to web) should be available at the end of May, but it has not been confirmed by MS yet.

How did you slipstream SP2 into Vista SP1? Or did you use the integrated SP2 DVD iso?

    Later...

I have ISO from torrent - 6002.18005.090410-1830 - it is from WZTiSO, they have genuine source, their standalone SP2 SHA1's match with that one on MSDN.
