Windows Vista is starting up very slowly and according to the Performance
Information tools the culprit is Acronis True image.
Here is what windows says: "These startup programs are causing windows to
start slowly. True image service. Consider not starting the application
automatically while windows starts. For more information click help."
By the way this is True Image 10 If I disable this startup my automatic
    backups will not function.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello SSI,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for the delayed response.

Please note that there are several services that Acronis True Image loads at start up. Please take a look at these previous threads: Registry, Startup, how to turn off?, Trueimagemonitor.exe and timountermonitor.exe?? explaining what schedul2.exe, schedhlp.exe, TrueImageMonitor.exe and TimounterMonitor.exe processes are and why it is not recommended to disable them. You may also find this thread interesting.

    Thank you.

This may or maynot be an Acronis Service problem. However, note that often Service (a) relies on Service (b) to be running, and if it is not Service (a) will wait until it does start, or until the Service Manager times it out.

If for some reason a fundamental system service is used by an Acronis Service and the Acronis Service is started early - you will get these symptoms which indicate that the Acronis Service was slow to start.

In the NT Service data structures it is possible for a Service to define dependendant Services and start them if they are not already running. If Acronis Services do have dependencies and they are not explicitly set, then you could get these problems.
