    Hello Chris,
its to show that the folder is compressed to save disc space.
right click folder properties, advanced. if you want it back to default colour untick compress contents to save disc space. one main folder at a time is best. main sure to apply changes to subfolders as well when the prompt comes up.

hmm, i aint touched anything though.

is it better to compress C:/ ?

will it improve performance maybe, or just save space?

not sure windows xp has always has the same feature.
i have some folders compressed and some not so dont know if improves proformance or not. i mean it can degrade proformance is it has to decompress files before they can be used. also vista will say cannot compress so and so file because its in use sometimes.
can you send me a pm if you find out any information about service pack 1?
the websites all say mid march which is now.... but it isnt listed on ms download site yet and no updates via windows uupdate atm.
