Virus via spoof windows updates ?

    And good paid A/V scanner that's worth it's salt would quickly detect these via web access protection or some other module.

    Windows Update are a required risk in running Windows - it's rare that a virus or some other sort of infection is delivered via updates.

    I don't think it is possible to get a virus via Windows Update.

    It's not rare, it's completely impossible, the entire process is encrypted.

    This would be assuming that the service is run on a non-infected machine. :D
