    Hi,

After manually installing the recent Database update of TDS-3 i got the following alert from our Enterprise Anti Virus system during Full System Scan with TDS-3.
    (Evaluation phase of Software)

    Detected in TDS-3 Installation directory:

    G:\TDS3\xDynamic\TDS.Unpk\1714.exe   PornDial-177.dldr
    G:\TDS3\xDynamic\TDS.Unpk\2453.exe   PornDial-177.dldr

    Virus Scan Enterprise 7.0
    Scan Engine 4.2.60

Virus Definitions 4285 as of 13-August-2003

Are such alerts (maybe false) known ?

    thanks,

    Uwe

    Hello Uwe, welcome here!
That folder where you found them is where TDS unpacks files for deeper examination. So the files have been somewhere on your system and might have been deleted already. Normally this folder is emptied after scanning so why it didn't happen this time i don't know, occasionally it happens. You can safely delete the files, they might be real.
Did TDS alarm on them too and was this the only place on the system?
I would like to be more sure in your place and zip the files and send them to submit@diamondcs.com.au where they can tell you with all certainty if those were real or false and if TDS should detect them if anywhere else on your system. As those dialers if installed can be really pricy in phonebills i really would like to know for sure!

    Hi,

The detection is correct and most people dont want dialers.. I sure dont want to pay $5 a minute

Do please send them in, I may add detection if they are auto dialers or are malicious in any other way. Most dialers are not added as they are not trojans and require the user to click OK to proceed :)
