    Can anyone help me here?
How to crop videos i.e remove black bars with videotovideo converter?
There is an option to crop videos. But I couldn't figure out how to correctly remove black bars.

And I am converting mp4 videos for HDTV.
Which is better MPEG-4 or H264/AVC?

How far did you get with it? There are several steps, what's the first thing you need help with?

I don't use this software so I can't help on how to do cropping, so sorry about that. But as for which compression format to use, if your aim is to maintain as much quality as possible with the smallest file size as possible, you definitely should use H.264 (either with x264 or FFmpeg's libx264, one of them should do). At least until H.265 becomes mainstream, in which H.265 should be the clear winner in that case.
