When my Nod32 v4 anti virus updates, a little pop-up in the tray area shows up saying the virus signature database has been updated to such and such.
At the top right of that pop-up is an X, which I assume is for closing the pop-up, but to the left of that X is a small arrow pointing downward. What is that arrow for? Usually I just let this pop-up fade away.

    Thanks

The down arrow allows you the flexibility to dispense of the alert window before it is configured to disappear.

So it pretty much has the same function as the X right?

Yes, you may configure them per this ESET Knowledge base article Noting you do not want to surpress the pop-up notifications, you may want to adjust the pop-up notication time to best suit your needs.

No, I don't want to disable the notification, I actually like having it. Clicking the arrow shouldn't disable the pop-up?

Ok, I like having the pop-up show up just as it is now, which is 10 seconds. Thanks for the tip.
