Yeah. The trial page didn't show the link and neither did the trial email message. The purchase page DOES have the link :) I needed to buy extra licenses for my Macs anyway...

I have Essentials which I assume is being replaced by Internet Security Plus. On the website it says this version has added password protection, only I am not seeing it with 8.0.2.14 (beta download). If this is included as claimed, do I have to do a fresh install in order to have it as over the top did not have it? Any ideas?

Edit: Correction: I am confused the more I read the different version descriptions on the website. To me it seems confusion over passwords, system cleaner, and backup and sync... I think I need some clarification on what version is the Essentials now and how does features compare to the old versus new version.

Protection was probably wrong word, I should have said password encryption/storage (as with RoboForm or Last Pass)...

So I think you are saying that the software has not caught up to the website yet? It seems then by the website that Essentials loses backup/sync and system cleaner, and gains password encryption and you can now use one of your 3 seats as a mobile version... If this is the case then I am not sure I am happy with these changes...

It looks like the executable for WSA Internet Security is the same as WSA Essentials. So, for now there is no difference between WSA Internet Security and WSA Essentials. Is this correct?
    Thanks.

If I am seeing the website correct, there are going to be several changes, not necessarily good ones...

I believe so as this is the initial release to consumers. So Joe and Team will be very busy in the weeks and versions to come!

Actually it's the same executable for all 3 versions as the keycode decides what you get! And also see the Quote from Joe in post #29.

I don't see the need for password encryption if Identity Protection is available with all versions.

You don't have to download it and install as it's optional as I will not use it either as I didn't use the online Backup in WSA-E and looks to be gone in the new Internet Security Plus? http://www.webrootanywhere.com/sah_Password_Management.asp?n=About_Password_Management

I am thinking that there are mistakes on that comparison web page as I do not think it likely for Webroot to change around the different version features that much. It could make for a lot of unsatisfied customers as I would be for example in losing backup/sync. If this is the case then the AV version would suit me better now as I would not want to pay another $20 a year for this feature when I already thought I had paid for it. I could be wrong and hope I am, but mainly hope the web page is incorrect...

I think the version comparison on the website is faulty, the complete version misses a checkmark on the ID shield and the IS plus version misses a checkmark on the firewall.

Are there going to be settings for these shields?

There were plans to change the age/popularity heuristics to be more like Px3.0 with user decision, any of this implemented?

I think it's best to wait for the Official Announcement to be sure as they could be still working on the website and it's Sunday. But continue the discussion as it's going great :D

Also there's no name tags on the GUI either as it still only says Webroot SecureAnywhere and that's all!

TH, after installing the new release and going into My Account online, Webroot "thinks" I have SecureAnywhere Complete even though I only purchased Essentials. I don't know if this will last, but if it does, it will not hurt my feelings any. :D

I have checked mine and it still says Essentials :D Houston (Webroot) we have a problem! Just joking I think it will be confusing until everything is in place and working as it's supposed to be.

Question - Will Webroot itself (in the next few days) autonatically handle the upgrade to the appropriate new version covered by ones existing license? I ask the qustion because to the best of my knowledge and belief Prevx has never been able to automatically update to Webroot.

Yes, existing licenses will be automatically upgraded. Prevx to Webroot is harder because it holds a different EULA and licensing structure.

For those wondering about the differences between products: no one will lose functionality - instead, everyone will be receiving more functionality. More to come on this shortly :)

    Interesting new version...

Having some problems - think I start with not been able to reset protection statics - it just keeps ticking on after I press the Reset button.

+ I don´t seem to find the ?/help-page for the "Settings"-page, the one I reach via the blue "Settings" on the top right just under the minimize _ and the close x.

I´ll be back with more - maybe.

Ooh nearly forgot I run win xp pro 32 bit + webroot secureanywhere.

Did you reboot since the update? I know it doesn't ask but it's best to and I checked mine and reset worked on Win 7 x64.

Did an extra reboot and I still have problems resetting Protections Statics.

Sometimes I also get a white square when moving the mouse over the Reset button o_O

    This seems rather weird.

Clean install? I found that a clean install it was sluggish until a couple of scans and reboots and now back to normal.
