I've just dumped ATI in favour of Paragon 2011. Seems to work flawlessly as I've tested a system backup and restore. I have the "control archive integrity" checked in the default settings, but what about validating an archive?
Or are the two the same?

    Thanks.

It is not clear to me either. But "Control archive integrity" is used to check the image integrity during restore, while the validation can be used at any time, without restoring the image, or before restoring it. In my experience, enabling the option does not slow down the operation significantly, so I always have it enabled.

The time to create an image depends mostly on the compression level used. I normally use "Normal" compression.
