    Hi, All --

My NOD32 AV 2.7 prompts me w a pop-up that a "New virus DB version" is available (yes, I want to be prompted b4 updates begin) but when I click "yes" nothing happens. If I try to manually "Update Now", my username/pw are "incorrect". I suspect my 1 yr license has expired, but can't find info from NOD32 about when my license will (or has) expire(d). As far as I can tell, I've received no notices from ESET abt expiration. Cd someone pls tell me how to determine my license's status? My NOD32 is from an OEM CD I purchased on NewEgg. Here's the "Info" screen contents:

I have the same version and recieved a notification, before the update problems, that my program was expiring on the date that is in the third line of your "Info":

Your program expired on August 22, 2008.

You probably did not reviece notification since they stopped updates and probably ALL other notices. Unless you signed into their new Store(in MY ACCOUNT) to buy your last year's software...which you probably did not since it was a CD, then they will not have your info in their system.

I am VERY disappointed in ESET with the way they have handled this new version 3.0 and sell v2.7, but do not support the v2.7.

I hate to stop using what was a great program and light on resourses. The Support has not been as good either. But until I start hearing better info on this board about the v3.0 I'm looking at other AV programs!

there are resellers who offer support on v2.7 - and ESET continues to release updates and fixes for it.

Thanks for the help, BFG & TonySak.

    The license has indeed expired.

I have another unused 2.7 CD (bought for someone else but never used it). What is the best way to "renew" my NOD32, using this new OEM CD? Must I uninstall the expired one & then install the new one? Or is there an easier/simpler way that wouldn't trash my settings, etc?

    Again, many TIA,
    Warren

Thanks anyway, nonoise. I want to renew using a CD ("What is the best way to "renew" my NOD32, using this new OEM CD?")

Also, in case it matters, (in my OP I mention that) my initial installation/activation was via OEM CD as well.

I probably shd just start a new thd w an accurate thd title for this 2nd question (my first Q was answered above by BFG & TonySak).

    Hello,

I believe the retail and OEM installation CDs sold in North American contain NOD32 v2.70.39 in a subdirectory but have to be installed manually since the default option is to install ESET NOD32 Antivirus v3.0 for operating systems capable of running it, i.e., Microsoft Windows 2000 and newer.

    Regards,

    Aryeh Goretsky
