    Hello.

As the title says, I need an app that will change attributes/time-date stamps on files and folders en masse. One that does just that, a very simple stuff, not a suite of additional "useful tweaks". Of course, I would love to see a freeware and/or a one that does not require installation (or dll loaded permanently). I am sure that such app exists, but I don't know where...

    Suggestions are very welcome. Thanks,

Attribute Changer is the only one I know.

Touch.com is probably what you want... see the link below:

Thank you fellows for all your input.

Howard's apps will do this time, as they seem to fulfill all my needs from the initial post. Howard, if you could make it a non-installer version for the ChangeFileTimes (zipped), that would be perfect.

Touch.com is probably the best and simplest option, but in this case I need an app with a GUI. BTW, many usefull stuff on that link Kerodo, thanks.

I'll try A43 File Manager a bit more, I like it thus far, but I would like to see more columns in the file panes (date created/accessed, attributes,...). It is lighter than Windows Explorer and don't need to be installed. :thumb:

Attribute Changer and FileMenu Tools are very nice, but do inject a DLL into explorer. This is something I tend to avoid if possible, as I will not be changing file/folder dates so often and I don't need a DLL running all the time.

Anyway, I kept them all, never know what I might need them for... :)

    Thanks once again,

The installer is necessary because, if not already on yout PC, a particular control has to be installed.

You might also wish to check whether the other programs handle Access time properly.

Yes, I already monitored what is being installed. The installer is not really a big deal, if it is clean and transparent (and this one is).

Thanks for the tip Howard :thumb: I'll pay special attention to that detail.

    Cheers,

The installer is INNO Setup, a very widely used free installer for use with Visual Basic programs.

    Hello lucas :)

Yes, great little app. And if I do recall correctly - you are using it too.

I have it even on the context menu, which is a rare privilege.

BTW, seems that I use many powers these days ;)

    Merry Christmas lucas :)

    Hello Nick,
Yep, I've been using it since some time. Great app and promoted to the context menu, too :D
    LOL :D
Merry Christmas to you and yours :)
