I just installed an mSATA SSD in my laptop for my C: drive and have a regular HDD for data. I know when restoring data to a SSD you need to be careful to have the right offset and alignment. Does anyone know what settings to use to ensure that ShadowProtect handles SSD alignment properly?

I've never done anything with the defaults on the numerous imaging/restores using SP on my SSD, and there's never been an issue.

I believe the only time there would be a potential is when restoring to a new SSD that was not yet partitioned.

I've confirmed using BootIT BM, that my SSD is aligned at 2048KiB, which is standard for Vista/Win7 and optimal for SSD's.

Thanks...I am glad SP works well with SSD's...I've been using it for years.

I found this thread at the Storage Craft forums that addresses creating partitions on a new SSD with the proper offset.
