    Hi guys and girls

I recently discovered the downthemall! add-on for Firefox, which I successfully used to download vids from http://www.tetesaclaques.tv

Simply adding the video link [with the .flv extension] to the downloader allows for the add-on to download and save the video, which is very nice.

I thought I'd use the same method to download videos from www.expertvillage.com, but it doesn't seem to work the same way. For instance, I just can't find any http://--.flv address on the page, so I have nothing to launch downthemall! at. The add-on in this case only finds .htm links, which are useless for what I'm trying to accomplish.

Anybody knows how to proceed? Is the method different from one site to another? I'm a newb' at this.

    Thanks

    Hello,
Try the VideoDownloader or Unplug extensions. I use Unplug for a variety of flash content sites, like break, youtube etc .... VideoDownloader is also ok, but it has far more timeouts ...

    Hi, thanks for the help...

Are those two FFox extensions also, or are they standalone softs?

EDIT: Ok, I just saw they're extensions.

    Cheers

I just tried using Unplug. It doesn't work either. Strange.

The links are seen, but the destination target of the links - once downloaded - are only a few kb in size .swf files !?

Has anyone here ever managed to download and save from www.expertvillage.com, preferably using a portable app, for instance PortableFFox?

If yes, how did one manage?

    Thanks

I just downloaded the first video on that site with DownloadHelper. No problems at all.

    Hi

That one works for me as well.

    Thanks for the help guys.

Funny some of these extensions work better on certain sites than on others, though. Beats me!?

    Cheers

Benny, if you're still using Linux just pick them up from/tmp.

I use Unplug, and i got a choice between a swf and flv - and it suggests that flv is what i want. flv downloads fine and works.
I think you got the wrong file.

Really? I never used it enough to see that. i can see that in PCLinoxOS, but gnome (Ubuntu) keeps very few tmp files. I will check it out, thank you,
