    Hello ALL:

Is it possible to use the boot disk that I've made with Acronis True Image 10 to recover or reset my windows Administrator/user account password?

    Thanks.

Only if you made an image at an earlier time for which you remember the password (assumes you later changed the password and then forgot the new one). You would then have to restore the image and revert to the state of the machine at the time the image was created. In other words, if you had installed new software or created new files since then, they would not be present after the restore.

The easy way is to just use the free "pnordahl password reset" bootcd, I used it a couple of times to reset my xp pro admint password. It work for me everytime.
The acronis bootcd doesn't have the capability to reset the admint password.

    HI:

Thanks so much to both of you for your generous help! I will try pnordahl.:thumb:

I have read the notes and downloaded the software.

One last request from me for feedback please.

Is it reasonable to post a request for Acronis considering a utility for resetting lost/forgotten passwords in WINDOWS OS as an aspect of their excellent product?

    Best for you and yours!

    Hello psient,

Thank you for using Acronis Products

I will add this request to Acronis customer listening system, if it is approved most certainly such an utility or an option will appear.

    Best regards,
