    Hello,

yesterday I've bought Acronis Disk Director Suite 10. I've read a lot of good reviews about it so I decided to buy it. Today I wanted to resize partition under Windows XP Pro SP2 and it didn't work :( Acronis DD restarted my computer, analyzed partition etc., but when Windows opened there were no changes. After that I've found this forum and looked for threads describing similar problem. Ok, I've found it and the solution is boot Acronis DD from CD and resize partition there. But when I boot from CD my mouse moves only in vertical direction. To be more specific: when first window appears - the one when I've to choose which program to open - my mouse works just fine. So I choose Acronid DD. After that, when next window appears, my mouse doesn't work in horizontal direction.

I've Logitech MX Revolution mouse and Logitech Wave Keybord. The keyboard work fine (it;s also wireless USB). I've BIOS configured properly.

    Do You have any solution?

And why Acronis DD can't resize partitions in Windows mode. It accepts tasks, reboots system and all the changes are made before Windows starts. Why it doesn't worko_O

A little bit dissapointed customer by now.

    Best regards,
    Solos

You can try the Safe Mode version of DD. It accesses the devices through the computer's BIOS and may detect the mouse properly. You may want to check if you have a "Legacy USB" option in the BIOS and try it enabled or disabled to see if it helps.

For the regular (Full Mode, Linux-based) version of DD, you could try the usbmouse=off option. Press F11 at the Acronis menu and add the parameter after quiet in the box so it looks like this:

    quiet usbmouse=off

Then click OK and start DD in Full Mode.

Ok, usbmouse=off worked. But why this bug still exists? Isn't it possible for Acronis team to fix it and release an update?

It's probably not considered a real bug. It's just how the Linux kernel is on some systems.

My USB Razer Lachesis mouse does not work while using OSS from the bootable CD. I have a logitech wireless USB mouse that works fine though.

Anyone know a way I can fix this issue with my Lachesis?

If your BIOS has any a "Legacy USB" or "Bootup USB/Keyboard" support option, you might try it with the option enabled or disabled and see if it makes a differenct.

Otherwise, you're probably left with submitting a support request to Acronis and asking for a custom build of OSS.

If things are setup how you want in OSS, using the keyboard to just select the OS is easy. If you need to make a lot of changes, it'd probably be easier to just use the mouse that works.
